I had a busy flying week with very little time to get much done in the way of literary work. When I came home from 5 days of non-stop flying, I had various responsibilities and promises to keep. One of those promises was to visit the craft booth of an old friend from high school. Oddly, we ended up in the same city in Colorado, seeing that we both grew up 1,500 miles away, in the Oakhaven district of Memphis, TN. We weren’t particularly close in high school seeing that we competed against one another in pretty much every aspect of our high school life. But we were friends. Our school wasn’t one of these new “mega- large” high schools that are around now-a-days and everyone pretty much knew everyone else. So, we knew each other well. She had posted a craft fair that she was participating in, and I promised to make an attempt to visit. I had purchased some of her items off of Etsy plus she is also my Tax Accountant but hadn’t gotten to spend more than a few minutes together since I moved here. As such, I thought I would show up to support her endeavor. I am so glad I did. Her crafts are so cute and make great little Christmas and birthday gifts. Not to mention we got to catch up on how each of us were doing. We were just two older ladies sharing a cup of coffee and reliving a few moments of the past.
So, while I wasn’t able to get much done in the way of working through my next book, I got something better. I got the chance to catch up with an old friend that I hadn’t gotten to truly visit in years!
Now that my flight schedule has picked up and my window to actually sit and write has narrowed, my BLOG will be scaling back to twice a month instead of weekly. I appreciate everyone who reads my BLOG every week. You make it all worthwhile.
