The idea that I gave everything I had into this and putting it out into the world leaves me feeling exposed and insecure. People tell me to not worry about it. That, you did this cool thing, and that’s amazing. Yes, yes it awesome to accomplish publishing your work. Writing a book is not easy and even harder to get it published. But until you have put your hard work out there for the world to scrutinize it’s hard to understand the humbling fear that accompanies that feat. Is it going to be enough? Am I enough?
I try to stay cautiously optimistic that it might do well and smile through the uncertainty, but it is extremely difficult. People have no idea the amount of courage it takes to open yourself up and allow others the view your soul.
My courage wavers at times, but as they say … steady on.
